Blade crowning gives knives a more polished look and feel. Crowning the jimping on a blade gives a much smoother and more luxurious feel that really needs to be handled to be appreciated. It allows for great grip and control while making it much more comfortable to use.

Depending on the shape of the blade it's also possible to smooth out the profile of the spine making the knife glide more smoothly in and out of your pocket.

I've done this mod on many knives, and some are more suited to it than others. Knives with a smooth flowing spine work best. Leaf sharpened blades and drop point blades typically work well.
